The 2025/26 campaign couldn’t have started better for the PSG Academy Middleton Hopwood Hall Women’s team, as they launched their season in solid fashion with a 5–0 victory over local rivals Oldham Athletic.

Coming into the fixture, anticipation was already high. Last season, PSG Academy edged Oldham to the top spot in the league, making this rematch one of the most eagerly awaited clashes of the opening week.

A Fresh-Looking Lineup, Immediate Impact

With a blend of fresh faces and returning talent, the coaching staff unveiled a newly shaped lineup for their first home fixture. From the very first whistle, it was clear the squad had already developed a sharp chemistry.

PSG Academy wasted no time in setting the tempo, dictating play with sharp passing, relentless movement, and a clear sense of purpose. The energy never dipped, with every player fully locked in and working seamlessly across the pitch, showcasing excellent teamwork.
