PSG Academy UK Announces Partnership with Ackworth School

PSG Academy UK, the official football academy of Paris Saint-Germain in the United Kingdom, is proud to announce a new partnership with Ackworth School, one of the country’s leading independent day and boarding schools.

This exciting collaboration brings together world-class football training with outstanding academic and pastoral education. Through the partnership, students at Ackworth School will benefit from the PSG Academy UK’s internationally renowned coaching methodology, which mirrors the philosophy and training standards of Paris Saint-Germain’s elite development system.

Starting from September 2026, PSG Academy UK will establish a permanent base at Ackworth School, offering student-athletes the opportunity to pursue professional-level football training alongside a first-class education. The programme is designed to support both aspiring footballers aiming for professional careers and those seeking personal growth through sport, teamwork, and discipline.

The new partnership builds on the continued success of the Ackworth Football Academy, which under the leadership of Director of Football John McDermott and Assistant Director of Football Gary Childs, has already established a strong reputation across the region. Reflecting on the announcement, McDermott said:

“Partnering with Paris Saint-Germain Academy England is a huge step forward for our football provision at Ackworth. This collaboration will give our players access to world-class coaching methods and pathways, while ensuring that their education remains at the heart of everything we do.”

Paris Saint-Germain Academy UK, Managing Director, Alex Harrap said:

“We are delighted to partner with Ackworth School, an institution that shares our commitment to excellence, education, and personal development,”

“This partnership provides a unique opportunity for young players to access the PSG methodology while receiving a top-tier education in a supportive environment.”

Ackworth School, founded in 1779, has a long tradition of fostering individual talent and holistic development. The collaboration will strengthen the school’s sporting offer, giving students access to UEFA-qualified PSG Academy coaches, advanced facilities, and pathways into national and international tournaments.

The school community has warmly welcomed this partnership as a landmark opportunity for both current and future students. Head Martyn Beer commented:

“This is an incredibly exciting development for Ackworth School. Working with such a prestigious international football academy allows us to broaden opportunities for our pupils, combining academic excellence with elite sporting performance. We are proud to be part of this partnership with Paris Saint-Germain to develop our students’ skill, performance and character.”

The PSG Academy UK at Ackworth School will also host holiday camps and outreach programmes, making world-class football training available to young players across Yorkshire and beyond.
