PSG Academy Yorkshire proudly hosted two action-packed football tournaments last weekend, celebrating youth talent, teamwork, and the spirit of grassroots football.
Friday: PSG Academy UK School Football Tournament at Mount St Mary’s College
On Friday 6th June, schools from across South Yorkshire gathered for the second annual PSG Academy UK School Football Tournament—a fantastic day of competitive football, teamwork and talent from Years 7 & 8.
Participating schools included:
- Birley Secondary School
- Rossington All Saints Academy
- Outwood Academy Adwick
- Aston Academy
- Chaucer School
- Wath Academy
We were also pleased to have Mount Saint Mary’s College representing PSG Academy UK.
The tournament featured a high level of competition, with players showing great sportsmanship and determination throughout the day. After two thrilling boys’ finals, both decided by intense penalty shootouts, Outwood Academy Adwick and Birley Secondary School were crowned joint champions.
In the girls’ tournament, Wath Academy emerged victorious, demonstrating strong teamwork and skill on their way to the title.
A huge thank you to all the schools, staff, and players who took part — and congratulations to our winners! We look forward to hosting even more schools and continuing to develop grassroots football in South Yorkshire and beyond.
Sunday: PSG Academy UK U8s Football Tournament
On Sunday 8th June, PSG Academy UK proudly hosted an exciting U8s Football Tournament, welcoming some of the region’s most enthusiastic and talented young players for a fantastic day of grassroots football.
Competing teams included:
- Eastwood CFC
- Hollingwood Community
- MSC All Stars
- Handsworth
- Bolsover
The event was filled with energy, great teamwork, and plenty of standout performances from all players involved. After a series of competitive and entertaining matches, MSC All Stars were crowned tournament winners, showcasing superb skill and spirit throughout the day.
We’re also thrilled to announce that both Bolsover and MSC All Stars have now qualified for the National Grassroots Show finals this July. We wish them the best of luck as they prepare to take on top teams from across the country!
