Monday marked an exciting and highly productive day as we hosted our PSG Academy West Midlands trial day. The event brought together a talented group of aspiring footballers, all eager to demonstrate their ability and take the next step in their development.
High-Quality Football on Display
It was fantastic to see both boys and girls taking part with an impressive standard of football evident throughout the day.
From the very beginning, players showed great focus and determination, setting the tone for a positive and engaging trial experience.
Structured Sessions to Test Every Aspect of the Game
Throughout the trial day, players took part in a variety of carefully designed activities aimed at assessing key areas of performance. These included:
- Fitness baseline testing to measure athletic ability
- Passing patterns to evaluate technical consistency
- Different phases of play to assess tactical understanding
- 1-2 combination work to highlight awareness and decision-making
- Position-specific drills to show understanding
Each session was delivered at a high intensity, giving players the perfect platform to showcase their ability, work rate, and willingness to learn.

Overall, the trial day was a strong success and an excellent starting point for the upcoming programme. We’re excited to continue working with a number of these players and look forward to welcoming them back when the PSG Academy West Midlands programme begins again in September.
