In the week leading up to the PSG Academy World Cup the Technical Directors Seminar took place in Paris. Our Head Coach for Wales Lowri Hunt tells us all about her experience as she travelled to her first Technical Directors Seminar with our UK Technical Director Paulo Pereira.
“Attending the Paris Saint-Germain Academy Technical Director Seminar was an incredible opportunity that exceeded all my expectations. Immersing myself in the club’s environment and further exploring the methodology was not only enlightening but also deeply inspiring.
One of the seminar’s highlights was gaining a comprehensive understanding of Paris Saint Germain’s football philosophy. The club’s commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect of their operation, from their training routines to their innovative game strategies. We delved into various aspects of the game, learning how they balance physical conditioning, skill development, and mental resilience. The emphasis on maintaining a high tempo in training sessions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement resonated with me profoundly.
I was particularly impressed by the holistic approach taken to player development. Beyond technical skills, the academy focuses on developing well-rounded individuals, emphasizing education, psychological support, and life skills. The integration of cutting-edge technology and data analysis in training sessions was another standout feature, highlighting the club’s commitment to staying ahead of the curve.
One of the most enriching aspects of the seminar was the opportunity to interact with Paris Saint-Germain Academy coaches from all around the world. The diversity of perspectives was enlightening and helped me see the game from multiple angles.
Getting to see a Champions League match was also an unbelievable experience. It was a shame about the result, but the atmosphere was second to none. The energy in the stadium, the passion of the fans, and the intensity of the game itself were unforgettable. Witnessing the pinnacle of club football in such an electric environment was truly inspiring!
The insights gained from the seminar have left me eager to implement what I’ve learned in my coaching practice back in Wales. Furthermore, the connections made with international coaches will serve as an ongoing resource for new ideas and collaborative opportunities.”
