The new season is officially underway at PSG Academy North Wales, and it has already been a busy and exciting start for our Level 3 students.
From induction presentations and project planning to football training and competitive fixtures, the first few weeks have given students plenty of opportunities to develop both on and off the football pitch.
Welcoming Students Back to PSG Academy North Wales
As part of induction week, our Operations Manager visited the Level 3 students to deliver a presentation introducing PSG Academy, our values and the opportunities available throughout their time with us.
The session gave students an insight into the wider PSG Academy pathway, as well as the opportunities available both on and off the pitch. It also highlighted how their education, football development and wider experiences can help prepare them for their future ambitions.
For students beginning or continuing their Level 3 Football journey, induction provides an important introduction to the expectations, opportunities and experiences that form part of life at PSG Academy North Wales.
First Student Project of the Academic Year
Alongside their induction, students were introduced to their first project of the academic year: fundraising and event planning.
The students have been divided into four groups, with each group responsible for selecting a charity and planning its own fundraising event.
The project is designed to help students develop a range of valuable transferable skills, including:
- Communication
- Teamwork
- Organisation
- Leadership
- Budgeting
- Event management
Projects such as this are an important part of the wider PSG Academy approach to student development. They provide students with practical experiences beyond football, helping them build skills that can support their future education, employment and career aspirations.
Football Training Gets Underway
Football training has also got off to a strong start, with students taking part in two training sessions each week on Mondays and Fridays.
The sessions provide regular opportunities for players to work on their technical and tactical development, while putting the principles of the PSG Academy methodology into practice.
Through regular football training, students can continue to develop their understanding of the game, improve their individual abilities and work together as a team.
PSG Academy North Wales Men’s Team Begin Competitive Action
The competitive football season has now begun too, with the PSG Academy North Wales Men’s Team playing their first league fixture of the new season on Wednesday 23 September.
After a busy period of preparation and training, it was fantastic to see the team return to competitive action and represent PSG Academy North Wales on the pitch.
The start of the league campaign marks another exciting stage of the season, with further fixtures providing students with opportunities to put their training and development into practice in a competitive environment.
Next Fixtures on the Horizon
The competitive action continues on Wednesday 30 September, with another exciting evening of fixtures ahead.
The PSG Academy North Wales Women’s Team will be on the road as they travel to face Macclesfield, while the Men’s Team await confirmation of their opponents for their upcoming cup fixture.
With both teams now entering the competitive phase of the season, there is plenty for students, staff and supporters to look forward to over the coming weeks.
A Busy Start to the Season at PSG Academy North Wales
With induction week completed, student projects underway, football training in full swing and competitive fixtures now beginning, it has certainly been a busy first month back at PSG Academy North Wales.
The new season is already providing students with opportunities to develop their football skills, education and personal development, both on and off the pitch.
With further training sessions, projects, fixtures and opportunities ahead, there is plenty more to look forward to as the season progresses.
