PSG Academy Ellesmere has officially launched its new 2026/27 season, marking this exciting chapter in the partnership between PSG Academy UK and Ellesmere College.
On Wednesday 9th September, players, coaches and key members of both the Ellesmere College and PSG Academy UK teams came together to celebrate the start of the new season and look ahead to another year of football development and education.
A special highlight of the day was the return of PSG Academy UK Managing Director, Alex Harrap, who visited Ellesmere College to meet the players, present their new shirts and officially welcome the squads into the 2026/27 season.
What Does It Mean to Wear the PSG Academy Badge?
During his visit, Alex spoke to the players about the privilege and responsibility that comes with wearing the iconic Paris Saint-Germain logo and what it means to represent PSG Academy both on and off the pitch.
The session highlighted that being part of PSG Academy Ellesmere is about much more than developing footballing ability. Players are encouraged to represent the values of the Academy, develop as individuals and make the most of the opportunities available to them through the partnership.
Speaking after the event, Alex said:
“It was a pleasure to be back at Ellesmere College yesterday to meet the players, present their new shirts and speak to them about what it means to represent Paris Saint-Germain Academy UK.
“For me, this partnership is about much more than football. It’s about creating an environment where young people can develop as players, grow as individuals and benefit from the combination of high-quality education and the PSG Academy philosophy.”
New PSG Academy Shirts Mark the Start of the Season
One of the highlights of the season launch was the presentation of the players’ new PSG Academy shirts, officially marking the beginning of the 2026/27 campaign.
For the players, receiving their new shirts was a memorable moment and an opportunity to proudly represent both PSG Academy and Ellesmere College throughout the season ahead.
The shirt presentation also provided an opportunity to recognise the significant work that has taken place behind the scenes to establish and develop the PSG Academy Ellesmere football programme.
Alex added:
“A huge amount of work has gone on behind the scenes from Stephen Mullock and Chris Horrocks to bring this programme to life, and it was fantastic to see the excitement from the players as they received their shirts for the first time.”
Football Development Through the PSG Academy Methodology
With the new season now underway, attention turns to the months ahead as the players continue their development under the guidance of Head of PSG Academy, Harvey Lewis, and the dedicated coaching team.
As part of the programme, players have the opportunity to develop their footballing ability through the PSG Academy methodology, while also benefiting from the unique combination of football and education at Ellesmere College.
The partnership provides an environment where young players can work towards their footballing potential while continuing their academic education, supporting their development both on and off the pitch.
Alex also gave special recognition to Mick Brennan, Harvey Lewis and the wider coaching team, as well as everyone at Ellesmere College who has played a role in bringing the partnership to this stage.
